Each week I'll post a recipe and two activities designed to bring parent and child together in an entertaining, educational, and nutritious way.
Snack time doesn't have to be boring!
This blog is about making snacks with kids and exploring early learning skills. Make learning fun. Cook something tasty, spend quality time together and establish a positive attitude towards learning. This blog is filled with yummy recipes and simple learning activities designed to give you ideas to teach your child. Learning colors, shapes, letter recognition, numeral recognition, counting, beginning letter sounds, sequencing, positional words, prereading skills, prewriting skills and left and right.
It is for parents with young children in preschool to first grade. Have fun making snacks and learning together.
I am a retired kindergarten and preschool teacher. I am certified to teach preschool through sixth grade. I was also trained in the St. Nicholas Montessori method and taught in a Montessori school for several years working with two through six year olds.
At the end of each school year the children in my classroom have always listed cooking and eating the snack as one of their favorite activities. Second through fifth graders stopped by after school to ask what we cooked today. It is a great way to spend quality time as you start your child on the lifetime journey of loving to learn. Learning is a lifetime skill.
